About the pull the trigger on a remanufactured long block for my 2007 Silverado... (it's burned 1qt oil per 2k mi and is now tapping extremely loud w check engine light). Looking at Rock Auto or Powertrainproducts.net (other suggestions/feedback welcome!)

Thinking about buying a kit to delete the AFM.

Powertrain Products is $2,999. (i think their engine warranty is 4 years).

Rock Auto has a few options ranging from $1900 (VIN O) to $2,500 (VIN M). Warranty is 3 yr/30k). My truck is VIN M, but - do I need the more expensive long block if I am deleting AFM?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

Here are all my options at Rock Auto...

If you don't want to actually do the mechanical changeover to get rid of the AFM, I'd suggest this.

https://rangetechnology.com/afm-disabler/

It is actually a little cheaper on Amazon. $175.

I put one on my 2009 Silverado, and I love it. I have moved it to my wife's Escalade for long trips a couple of times, and it works flawlessly!

My mileage went from 15.3 avg to 15.8.

No, I'm not a salesman. I just want to share some good info.
