My 47 coupe has the sliding opening rear quarter windows. The driver's side lever has broken. Been driving it for 28 years and over a hundred k and have opened that window a lot. So I need to find a replacement. My question is do other body styles use the same type and size of mechanism? I've never looked that closely at aerosedans or 2 door sedans rear windows.

You can find one fairly easy for the D/S front. Go the site called Salvage and junkyards for classic cars. It lists them from all over the country. Also ebay motors has them, Ive seen them in the past. I believe The Car Shop in Orange , Ca. has them
Good hunting!

One of the sliding rear windows was cracked in my 46 sedan. I removed it and took it to a local car glass shop and they just cut me a new one. I dropped it off at 10 am and picked up the new on around 2 pm. As long as it is flat glass and no curves, any shop should be able to make you one.

I left the metal piece (the part that rides in the track, on there and they installed that on the new glass for me.

Ooops! I just re-read the original post. Sorry, I thought you need the glass, not the lever.

The four door sedans (sport sedans) had the sliding windows. I don’t know if the entire track was the same but the lever should be the same. The windows on the sedan and coupe look about the same size, so maybe they would interchange.

Thanks, I looked at a manual today and it confirmed showed the four doors have rear sliding glass so I might have an easier time finding one being parted out than a coupe. And yes it is the mechanism I need not the glass, but thanks for the replies.
