I am looking for the smallest spare that will go in back of seat. Any ideas on size and what car it would be from? It has stock height spindles and springs now. Running 215 65R 15 tires on 7 inch rims. 4 3/4 bolt pattern. 5 lug. Outside diameter of tires are 26 inches so the spare should be close to that.I has a Truetrac posi in it so what I have read it should have the same diameter spare or it could damage the rear end.

I solved my spare tire problem on my 1968 el Camino with a new 6" 5 bolt 4 3/4" wheel with a 205/75/R15 tire (as a non-stock backup to my 58 Corvette spare). The wheel fits loosely and nicely behind the passenger seat without the factory jack stand and base (disappeared before I bought the vehicle). A future project for me is to invent a way to anchor the spare to the back wall. A 195 tire would be thinner.I could not use the running tires which are 245/60/R15 as they are toooo wide for the space behind the passenger seat.

You could go with a "temporary spare", but those are expensive for what you get and typically limit your speed to 50 mph. IMO, a better choice would be one of the narrow wheel/tire combos intended for the front end of drag cars. Those would certainly withstand any speed you might want to drive.

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.
