Has anyone had a problem with the drivers side door striker cracking the metal and bending in?
If so what is required to repair?

The door won't latch closed anymore

Welcome to the site.
Wow. How bad is the damage? There are several ways to fix it. Cutting out the area and replacing it is probably the best way. A new plate will add reinforcement.

Here is one example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY7znSD6Gvc

Bad door bushings cause most door closing problems.

I had a feeling that was what needed to be done. I will make the new part like they did and will have to find someone to weld it in for me.

Thank you
