I am considering a FITech injection system for the 261c.i., 3 speed O.D. that's in my '51 pickup. Any suggestions, comments? Thanks chevcpe

Nothing specific to your application but just generally a good idea to download and read through the instructions first before buying. You should make certain it has all of the features you are interested in going forward and you will also get a better handle on the related items which need to change. Pump requirements; pressure regulator; wiring requirements; filter recommendations; clean power and ground etc. Location where you want to mount the components and what you may need to do to run the wiring. Doing those items scopes the project before spending any money.

Thanks for the response Toro. Sound advice. I THOUGHT I had done most of what you advised but found that I was a bit optimistic on the fitment of components, and, especially the estimation of my own knowledge and capabilities. Fortunately my son is a great asset to this project and has bailed me out on a couple of items already. Specifically, I didn't realize that Clifford's 4 barrel intake is pretty much incompatible with a column shifter in a pickup. Without the Clifford manifold, the concept of a fuel injection is pretty much out of the question. Clifford's personnel suggested a floor shifter which is out of the question for me. Anyway, we now own a FITech injector system and a Clifford intake and a 3 speed overdrive transmission, with a column shift that works! That leaves about 100 other items to work out. Again, thanks for the input - it was right on point.
