Sound mostly depends on the speakers for normal use, so any radio will be ok.

too much BS in the radiostations these days.. atleast here in germany.

I too have grown tired of broadcast radio.

As an alt to a new radio, I bought a blue tooth portable speaker that's about the size of a 16 oz beer can. I 'hang' on a plastic cup holder, and stream music from my phone. The one I have has volume control on it. The battery change last about 8 hours (both the speaker and the phone).

I also use the speaker when I'm working on the car , or washing it. Great at the beach too. No running down the car battery. I really like it.

Pete

Just in case anyone is interested,I installed the stereo and it sounds great.I put a set of Alpine speakers in the rear deck.No front speakers yet,I may just run rear speakers, that’s how good it sounds.

I've the RetroSound in my '70 Caprice. I like it and the customer service is great too. I have the blue tooth with hands free, and with the microphone hung on the column shift, it works just fine. I also have Alpine 6x9 in the rear deck and couple of Alpine 5-1/4 in the center dash on a custom bracket I fabbed. Sound is good, but lacks low end bass. Good enough for me though.
