Trying to find some side teardrop, I guess they're called bullet mirrors now, that I can use on my 53 Chevy 210 sedan. If I'm unable to find those I would be happy to find some side mirrors that can actually be used to view traffic to the rear. I purchased some mirrors that attach to the door with set screws only to find out they are for show only. Can't adjust them to see anything behind.
Thanks

Sorry B_Man, but back in the day only a driver side mirror was needed as most of the roads were two lane. No need for a right hand mirror. I'm with you it sucks. (There just for show )

I'm using 55-57 Chevy mirrors on my 53. They aren't ideal but I can see fairly well out of them. I use a convex stick-on for the passenger side.

Gave up on the mirrors! I installed a license plate camera from Tadi Brothers!! Seems to work fine!!~ I have the wireless system with a 170 degree view! Set it up to run full time when I am driving.

tadibrothers.com/wireless That should get you there!! Lots of options for the cameras, I went wireless and a clip on rear view screen. It clips on my rear view mirror and I can remove it anytime!

Great idea but, if you don't mount the cameras on the doors like a rear view mirror, it seems to me you would have a pretty big blind spot for passing or switching lanes. How well do they work at night with a car behind you?

I upgraded to the 170 degree wide angle view! I can see both lanes clearly to pass and to get back into the right lane! Surprisingly it works better on cloudy days or at night! I still haven't figured out the correct contrast on bright sunny days, but it is still better than my outside mirrors! There is a contrast button, just don't have it correct yet! It even has distance determination lines to better gauge your driving lane!Look at it this way, a line drawn from bumper end to end would be 180 degrees, so I can see 170 degrees almost half of a complete circle! Hope that makes sense!!

Thanks for the good info. Even though I now have mirrors that work as good as I think possible for these old Chevys, I still feel like they are not enough. It sounds like you found a better solution to the mirror problem by "thinking outside the box".
