You probably know this already, but just in case here's some more of the story:
Buck Owens was retired or almost retired when he heard Dwight Yoyum playing one night in Nashville. Owens helped Dwight get started, Dwight wrote the "Bakersfield" song for him and Buck to record. The rest is history, as they say.
I first heard this story on a late night country station out of Nashville, I hope it's true...but if it isn't it's still a good story.
Great looking car! Thanks for sharing. Bill

WOW!!! Beautiful car. Can I ask what you paid for it, or am I being too nosy?
My wife and I went to a show he did in Amarillo back in the early 70s. We wrote a check at the window for our tickets, and when we got our statement that next month his check was in the batch. It was actually signed by Buck Owens. We still have it somewhere, maybe?
He was a great singer, songwriter. My favorite song he did was "Great white horse"

I'm an old fan of Buck Owens and Dwight Yoakam as well. I knew he had an old Cadillac but never knew about the '58.
Sure is a beauty.

Thank you... The Old Cadillac you mention is actually behind the bar mounted on the wall in his Restaurant "The Crystal Palace" in Bakersfield, Ca... That Cadillac actually belonged to Elvis Presley and Mr Buck got it from him...

Congratulations Pete. Beautiful 58. You must be starting your own 58 convertible museum. Great looking car.
Buck was one of the first performers I saw on TV, Cousin Herb Hansen Trading Post Gang. In all my years in Bakersfield I only saw him in person one time...Burger King when it was on Oak/Wible.

Nice. If you ever need a place to park it, my driveway is available. Used to watch Buck on Hee Haw when it was on TV and always enjoyed his performances.
