Hi all. Was washing inside of hood and came across the words: " Short Star, Long-term angle" Does it mean anything in particular? Do you think it's factory markings?

My guess is it pertains to the hood bolts since there are Star washers on bolts to hood. Maybe angle refers to piece on firewall.

The majority of the crayon markings were Numeric or Alpha numeric. The paint code or what body style/trim level (or both) are what is common. They would have needed to know if it was for a 6cyl or v8 for the hood trim as well as what paint code it needed to be painted. Post up some pictures. I highly doubt it had anything to do with the fasteners as every model hood used the same attaching hardware. Not sure if the low end models did not have the hood insulation pad and metal retainers or if that was a 6 cylinder versus 8 cylinder thing. Someone else hopefully can chime in.
