I have a 95 silverado c1500 extended cab, 5.7, auto w/ tow package. How many gallons of gas does the tank hold? (single tank and stock as far as I can tell) Is there anything like a low fuel warning light on these trucks?
Thanks.

There is no light or warning on these.
It is either a 26 or a 34.

As stated, no warning light. Short bed has 26 gallon, long bed has 34.

The only warning light is the check engine light when she runs out of gas!

Ditto on the 34 gallon tank. C-note to fill that one.

I feel your pain. I put a brand new 34 gallon tank on mine after I bought the truck and did stage 1 of the engine build. I dumped a 5 gallon can of gas in it and drove to the gas station. If I remember right, 93 octane was $3.89 a gallon. I do remember clearly it took $125 to fill it up.

Wow! You have it worse than I do.
From the time I was born to even when gas hit its peak in 2008, 93 octane was only $.20 more than 87. Gas prices dropped and 93 jumped to $.40 more a few years ago and we also got the treat of having 10% corrosive ethanol added. We are paying $2.79 for 87 octane, $3.19 for 93.

I thought it was 26 gallons too so I went and got my 1993 manual out.
My 1993 manual shows
Short Bed 26 gallons(98 Liters)
Long Bed 34 gallons (128 Liters)

Yesterday here 87 octane $2.79
91 octane with no ethanol was $3.39

lol. I thought it was 26 because I had to do mine awhile back.
Probably going to rot out again soon.
Our gas prices are terrible for those of us that care what we run.
Never thought I would see the day paying over .50 more for better gas

I just looked, and LMC does call it 25. Someone needs to tell them they are wrong unless the reproduction holds a gallon less.

While we're on the subject of gas tanks; on my 2008 Impala, you are lucky to get an extra 50 cents in it after the pump shuts off. On my 34 gallon truck tank, I have put $10 more in after the pump shuts off. Has anyone else noticed that and can anyone explain it? It has to be an air bubble due to the shape of the tank.

Aftermarket repro is 25 gallon just changed the one in mine not to long ago I think I found one 26 gallon tank but the price caused me to say hell no and get the 25 lol. As for low fuel my last truck and this one seem to run out just as the needle hits the white line under the red but filling it from dead empty hurt's the wallet so I fill it usually around 1/4 tank at 3.09 a gallon for 87 here in NY 3.59 for 91 octane don't see 93 much anymore in my area but can get 91 ethanol free at a couple places which is worth the price in my opinion lol truck likes it a lot more too.

it probably has to do with the baffles.
No baffles equals 26 gal.
with baffles is 25.
Mine has no baffles. 26 gallon.
The tank on the impala is nothing in comparison to the trucks.
It should not take much after the first click. Maybe a dollar.
Too much and it could back up into the vent

Aren't baffles just sheet metal? I can't see that using up a gallon of room.

I noticed that the gauge in my dad's old 96 short box really moves around a lot with the motion of the truck. My 99 long box doesn't do that.... it just vibrates from some sort of electrical issue.

My 96 extended cab Z71 short box that I bought new, says 26 gals. in the owners manual, and 25 gals. on the window sticker.

The older I get, the more dangerous, I am !!!!
