A good friend of mine has a 58 Suburban, anyone know if a Jag front end would be a close swap like on our year cars ?
If so what’s a good year ?
Thanks
Roger

A 58 truck front suspension has almost nothing in common with a 49-54 passenger car. I will ask the moderator to move this thread to the truck forum, where you will likely get more and/or better answers.

Hi Roger, Even easier in the suburban and trucks than the car. Lots in both AD trucks and other brands here.

Big difference is the front wheels are now 5 stud instead of six so not something you may want to do to 3/4 ton and up but great in the light ones.

You can also make them lower easier as the truck chassis is a "C" section and you can set the Jag member up into it.

The Jag wheel center is like the Chevy Bendix center not the Huck hub. 52 wheel center on. Back space is not the same. Normally the truck chassis is boxed in the suspension mount area which makes it flex and twist less but this is taken up by the independent front.

The big plus with the Jag is the rack is on the back and so more easily connects to steering. Its also a very fine suspension system.
