It's been a while, but things have been moving along. Everything under the hood is done, except for replacing an AC hose connector. I had a low fuel pressure issue, but, I moved the wiring circuit to the trunk, took the power directly off the battery, and now the pressures right where it needs to be! It starts right up, idles smooth, and rumbles just bit with the dual exhaust Just haven't had it out for a test ride yet. Wheels are on order,as is another box of Dynamat, and we already have the new molded carpet. Today, I'm resetting the quarter slider windows and maybe putting on some peep mirrors.

Yep, getting close! Anxious to get it on the road. Wheel Vintiques says it'll be 10-12 weeks for the wheels, so my bias ply tires (of unknown decade) will have to do.

Finally took the new carpet out of the box. Looks great! We're going to leave it set for a couple days and then we're going to steam it to make it easier to fit.

We have carpet!! We spent the morning installing the new carpet, with the aid of Kat's Jiffy Steamer. The only troublesome area was the tunnel and that's because of the jute. We're just going to give the carpet time to settle on it's own, then steam it again.

Feels good to get carpet laid down. I bought carpet from O'Rielly's. Doesn't lay very good over the hump, but it covers the floor.

We've never had carpet before, so this is a big deal for us. I wanted to put the Mercedes buckets in, but I have to relocate the tracks, so the truck buckets are going in for now.

After 2 days of cussing, I finally got the horn working on the new steering wheel. The belleville springs supplied with the Ididit horn kit were worthless. I modified the one out of the 49 wheel hanging on the wall. Then I had to make a plastic washer to fit under that. Then I had to add plastic spacers under the horn ring retainer.

The carpet and seats look really nice! And the seat belts are built in the seats as a side benefit.

Took Snowball out for the first drive today! Did some laps around the front yard just to monitor engine temp, then hit the road. Went into town, did a lap, then back home, bout a 7 mile trip. It was great! The car ran great, drove good, except for tire squeal turning. New wheels are coming Tuesday, so I'll have new tires on by the end of the week.

Did another ride into town today, fixed some rattles, put in a spare tire tie-down, and put the hood on. Every day it gets better!

Thank you! We've been driving it all over, working on squeaks, rattles & speedo calibration. I do have an issue with the current rear disk brake axle hitting the bump stops with car being lowered, so I'm changing to a drum rearend. I have a 3.73 posi sitting in the stand, waiting for parts. That should be in the car soon.

One of the rear backing plates, on the "new" rearend, had a rotted out dust shield, so I spent some time on the shrinker/stretcher and made a new one.

The "new" rearend is in, an improvement on performance, but still an occasional bump stop hit. It may even be a shock bottoming out, considering I have a shock mount bar and didn't put shorter shocks in. To add to the list of issues, the master cylinder has failed, most likely from sitting without brake fluid Back up on the jack stands.

Impressive!

People fear change because it threatens what they know, or what they claim to know.

Haven't posted much lately, been having fun cruising, 780 miles worth of fun! The cars been running good and the only failure was the diy wipers I put in 9 years ago, so, a Newport wiper system is going in. New windshield glass came today. The old windshield was sooo bad, you couldn't see out, driving into the sun. I made a cover for the pcm, we covered the door panels, and replaced the light gray buckets with the dark gray buckets from the donor vehicle. Interiors starting to look better. Also have new 48 Ford hub caps. Liked them better than than Chevy ones.
