I'll jump in too.

I have a 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, two 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3s, and a 1-1-1... I won't count, the lawnmower, tiller, chainsaw, and weed eater.

I do maintenance on my uncle's 135624. I still have to fix his gas gauge.

To remember 153624, think: To young, to old, just right. For 1342: 13 year old girl with a 42 inch bust. I was taught this in the Army over 40 years ago, I still remember it. It's effective but most assuredly not politically correct today.

I had a survey professor in college. He was a salty old codger and I loved him. He had a few politically incorrect ways about him too but he was incredibly effective. I still use them to this day: for example:

For those of us who are mathematically challenged, what trig terms (or formula) do those letters stand for?

Ray

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.

On a right triangle

Sine of the angle = Opposite side/hypotenuse
Cosine of the angle = adjacent side/hypotenuse
tangent of the angle = Opposite side/adjacent side

I learned it as Oscar Had A Hold Of Arthur, but I was in the 10th grade not the military.

There is another more modern one too, but I don't remember it.

Thank you. So it's the definitions of the common trig functions in the order Sine, Cosine, Tangent.

That prompts me to share my favorite - the resistor color code. "Bad boys rape our young girls, but Violet gives willingly". Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Gray, White are 0-9 in that order. I think I learned it when I was about 12.
