Hey there, I have a 97 Chevy 4x4 1500 reg cab stepside and I just put a 98 454 vortec crate motor in it, it has a rebuilt 4l80e in it but I have the option of a 93-94 Chevy 2500 6.5td with a nv4500 tranny in it, I've always wanted the 5 speed in this thing but I'm not 100% sure if it will work, I know it will bolt up but I'm not sure of the other work it will need to function, if anyone knows/ have done something like this please help me out! Thanks in advance

Totally doable.

Pull the pedal and clutch assembly and the two clutch switches. Big black squares at each end of the clutch travel. The one behind the dash is the cruise disable. Wire it in series with your brake cruise disable circuit.

The other is the start enable. Relocate the Park/Neutral start enable circuit from the bottom of the steering column to this switch.

Make sure to transfer the openings to your ‘97 for the stick and clutch master piston rod.

Biggest challenge: finding a ‘96-‘98 454 PROM chip with manual trans. You don’t need it immediately in order to get the truck running, but you will get about 20 error codes because the automatic transmission’s expected to be there and the computer is looking for it.

Also, welcome to ChevyTalk.
