Cigarette lighter started grounding out on my 85 with my dash cam plugged in. Replaced the fuse and got the horn and dome back but I'm ready to replace the cigarette receptacle completely with a new one. 12 volt power only, no lighter, preferably plastic in the stock hole. Anyone do this and how to remove the old receptacle?
Pretty much right up against the AC housing too. I was searching for a 'tube video for our trucks but found nada.

You have to hold the back side while screwing out the inside sleeve. It's a two piece part. The connection is also unique. It's around connector. You may have to extend the wire or reroute it to upgrade.

In my experience, it is usually easier to hold the socket (the inside part) and unscrew the sleeve (the outside part).

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.
