Hey all,
We have a 77 Caprice Classic that we attempted to put a L82 350 in today. Got it lined up and bolted to the transmission, but cannot seem to get the motor mounts to sit properly. Passenger side sits well/bolts in, but we cannot get the driver side to drop down/line up properly.
Any insight?

I'm sure this is resolved by now, but it brought up a memory I have of a similar problem some years ago installing an engine in a '79 C10. I had bought new engine mounts; one from the dealer and the other aftermarket because the dealer only had one in stock. When setting the engine in, the GM mount fit perfectly, but there was a hang-up on the aftermarket mount. Of course the problem wasn't readily clear at first. After multiple attempts we pulled the engine back out and had to massage on the mount, removing a metal tab that simply never should've been there. That simple dumb part problem cost over an hour's delay.
