Hello Chevy people, just got a 51 Chevy tin woody, who out there are the wagon gurus? I'm going to need some help identifying some parts locations I have no idea what they are,and restoration tips on a few items, and I need the middle back seat, the narrow one, I have the front and rear rear back seat by the tailgate. Any help out there? Thanks!

Congrats on your purchase. You're in for it now!

I'm in Las Cruces, NM, working on two 1950 wagons and would be glad to help you in any way I can. This is an unbelievably helpful site with some really knowledgeable people who are eager to help.

One of my wagons (Willard) is/will be completely stock and the other (Ramone) is a period correct "hot rod" with beefed up 235, dual carbs and exhaust, Bendix brakes with power booster, Powerglide tranny and 3,55 rear end, and '54 steering column with turn signals.

I have two front and middle seats and one stock rear seat. I have a folding rear seat from a van conversion that I'm planning on shortening and using in one of the wagons.

Post some pictures of your "new" car, and good luck with your project!

Congratulations!
Those are Great Cars. You'll definitely find a Great Resource in this Forum. Also, the HAMB Forum has proven to be helpful for me. But beware, they are strictly "Old School", no modern stuff - I've been bounced more than once for posting outside their parameters.

Congratulations! We don't see too many of them over here in the East. Here's a shot of the last one I saw. I like to call it "Dead Tin Woodie in the Ferns."

As far as I know that one is probably still out there and maybe another. We may head up there for a parts run in the next month or so and I'll check.

Absolutely. Grab those rare wagon parts! See if the inside door handle for the back door is there.

Here's the other one from a couple of years ago. Not as good as the one in the ferns but I'll look at it if it's still there.

If you do look for parts, I'm looking for 51 front door stainless, either side is the same, only need one!
