Hello;
Well, since selling another car I had, Im tossing a lot of ideas around for whats next for my 57!
Car has paint, custom interior, Pretty good motor (grubby), Just installed a performance radiator, front disc/rear drum power brakes,
Pretty good audio, and starts right up every time!
What Im looking for are ways to improve what I have and dress things as well as finish some rough edges! Im considering:
Better quality ride?
I know I have to do some work on the fitment of certain things
Also considering;
Completely black chroming all outside trim
Black chrome wheels
OR: take the car to a good shop here in the bay area and see what they think!
Now, I have had shops work on my car that said that they knew "what to do!" But to be honest, they didn't have a clue!!!!! I knew more than them!! but I am not patient and skilled enough to get done what I want.
Plus my recent surgery has put me on a very long road to recovery!
So, Im leaving myself open for your ideas as to where to begin this next phase of development on my car!!

I would concentrate on the suspension and engine bay appearance. When I'm at a "participant-judged" (popularity) car show, I won't vote for a car that doesn't have the hood open.
My 57 has stock suspension except upper control arms with all new bushings, ect. My wife says it rides smoother than her Cadillac SUV.
The black chrome is strictly your taste, not mine, though. Not on a "classic".
P.S. Noise (rattles, squeeks, ect.) play a big part in the feel of the ride quality. If it rattles on the slightest bump, it's usually blamed on suspension, not the loose doors and windows.

Hello;
I have the upper and lower tubular control arms on my car (ccp) and the ride quality does need some work but I really don't know just what? Thanks!
Engine on this car is really grubby because I drove the snot out of this car every day, so I like the idea of clean up the engine bay! Thanks!
I wish I could post pix here so anyone can see just what I have and let there eye see what mine doesn't!!

A clean engine bay goes a long way toward making a car look top notch. Clean and tidy, little to no wiring showing and what does show is addressed well. Interior doesn't need to be custom, just well done and tasteful. Stance is very important as well as panel fitment and bodywork. Ride quality is personal taste since observers at car shows don't experience that. Things like black chrome and wheels are personal taste as well. But it doesn't hurt to ask opinions to get a feel for the direction things are going. But if you like it, go for it. But too much of a good thing can throw a car off in looks too. So use discretion. Paint color is a personal choice too. But some colors just don't look good on certain cars no matter how much you like the color.

Re: black chrome and stainless. Been there, done that, like it much. Works best with a contrasting body color such as yellow, orange, white. Cant post pic., used a "Dip It" type style rattlecan for flat black, easy to remove. You can see photo over on TriFive .com member is copymutt.

Hello;
Working on everything right now! Wow, I didn't realize just how much stuff I needed to "take care of" on this car. Quite a list!
Don't know if I will go the EFI or not I gotta say that the new Street Deamon seems to be just fine! Car starts right up idles really smooth.
I think I also need to address the exhaust system as well, it sounds great but has some low hanging pipes just after the manifolds and as the car is kinda low I get that "scraping sound" sometimes.
Car looks really nice, new paint two years ago, which is metallic blue and silver top with racing stripes on the hood and trunk (one large one)
The front and rear bumpers are silver powder coated, not chromed.
Overall it's not a show stopping car but it does look really nice! I built it to drive it. It has AC, electric windows (4) really nice "waterfall" center console, with custom Dash Dakota Digital Guages!

Those low hanging exhaust pipes need to be fixed. You could break a manifold.
