Hi!

Im looking to upgrade a stock 8.5 rear end on my 77 malibu with a posi unit and ring and pinion set. I was looking at this kit on ebay:
https://m.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GM-8-5-10-BOL T-Ring-Pin...

Does anyone have any experience with this unit or seller? The posi is supposed to be yukon unit, but the preload spring looks different than other yukon units i found. Bearings are supposed to be koyo and ring and pinion are motive brand. What puzzles me is that it all seems too cheap to me, but the seller has good reviews.

Any ideas?

Well, i used to be sure it was a 8.5” but now im starting to have some doubts. I was trying to id it by the “dog ears” at 5 and 7 o clock. They look more like an 8.5 triangles, but they have a kind of semi circle gap on the lower side next to the diff cover.

They are the same as the ones in this video:

Most of the other photos of the 8.5” i see have just straight triangles. Any ideas?

Couldnt find any other numbers on the differential housing itself
