Hello Guys

I am looking for a Drivers Side Lower Control arm for a 1954 Chevy Bel Air 2 Door Sedan. Any ideas on where I can find one? or does anyone have one laying around?

Thanks

READ THE FOLLOWING, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION!
The 49-54 passenger cars (as well as 53-62 Corvettes), used the same front suspension parts.
The lower A-frames are sort of, but not exactly, left and right.
What makes the difference between a 49-54 left and right lower A-frame, is the bracket (for the sway bar link) which is spot welded onto the bottom of the A-frame.
For example, if a person needs a left lower A-frame, but all that can be found is a right A-frame, it is TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EASY to make a left from a right-------------or vice versa.
Simply drill through the 4 spot welds (no need to drill all the way through the A-frame. Use a hammer and screw driver to gently tap off the bracket. Place the bracket onto the other side of the A-frame, make 4 welds where the original spots were and VOILA, you have changed the right A-frame into a left A-frame. As I said--------TOOOOOOOOOOOO EASY!

Oh ya, and there is no difference between UPPER left and right A-frames.

Hi DZ, does the 53-54 use the same upright as the earlies? I had an idea the spindle was at a different height?

Cheers Kiwi

I have the entire front end from my 54 4-door. You can have the whole assembly, if you can figure out a way to get it from Houston, TX.

Regards,

Ben

The 49-54 pass car and 53-62 Corvette spindle supports are 100%, totally interchangeable.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUT, the knuckle for the kingpin on 53-54 pass car spindle supports is approximately 1in higher. Thus, lowering the frontend of the car.
Back in the old days (I mean OLD days) of Corvette racing, some people swapped 53-54 pass car supports onto their early Corvettes, which lowered the frontend, which lowered the center of gravity, which resulted in improved cornering.

The left spindle support is 53-54 pass car compared to all others.
