In the cold weather we've been having(-21f),the ABS system on my '05 Z-71 keeps freaking out...chimes going nuts and symbols on dash lite up.
Had it to the garage once and since there were no codes tripped, they pretty much said "your truck don't like it this cold".
Whats up?? is there anyway to appease the ABS gods??

Probably have a bad front hub assembly.
Best way to determine which one is to drive it with a scantool monitoring wheel speeds.
When you slow down watch for one to drop to 0 prematurely. That is the bad one.
What other lights come on?

I haven't had it out of the garage (heated) for a couple days now. It only does it when it's really cold out. From what I can recall the ABS and what looks like a parking brake lights up along with those infernal chimes

My ABS and brake warning lights come on all the time probably due to a corroded reluctor wheel. But the truck never chimes. Mine wil only chime if the parking brake is on or partially on. So it sounds like you may have more than one problem. Sounds like your truck thinks the parking brake is on as well.

dont be surprised if your EBCM or EBTCM kicked the bucket.
Check the codes, if it even communicates with the ABS.
Likely the ABS if off of the datalink. That is your lights and dingers

I've had it out and about the past several days and it's back to normal, whatever that is. Temps have been above 20deg. It only goes bananas when it's really cold. That particular day the hi was only -6 I think. I may have more to report after Saturday because it has to sit in -15 to +8 the better part of the day.

Well when I pulled out of the garage this morning it was -21 and when I got to work it had dropped to -27.
Truck sat from 7 until 2 this afternoon and the warmest it got was 2 deg. No alarms or anything, I don't know what to make of this thing now..
