Hi guys.
I'm looking at a new wiring kit to suit a 1961 4 door hard top Impala.
It is factory right hand drive 283 and column shift glide. ( I am in the process of changing out the 283 for a big block and 4l80e auto)
I believe all RHD impala so have a 1961 Pontiac dash and gauge cluster.
Should I buy the classic update kit for a 1961 chev or would the 1961 Pontiac be better due the gauge cluster wiring etc.

I understand I will need to extend some of the circuits to reach the right hand drive gauge cluster and column but anything else I should know.?

I will also be using msd ignition.

Thanks for your help

Matt

Matt, there is really not a good answer here. Those RHD drive cars had very unique harnesses in them, and we simply do not address them as there just isn't enough interest in them. You're gonna do lots of cutting and splicing no matter what you do. The Classic Update would probably give you a better start I guess. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Donny

Thanks for the quick reply.
Now to decide do I buy the update kit and modify it or just retire from scratch.
