Hi Guys, not 100% on the exact detail but I thought 59 on engines had quite different rockers and shaft that had a unique oil supply system up to the rockers and also inside the rockers themselves.
It might be worth having a look on the online site.

For what it's worth, I'm using 62 235 rockers, shafts, and oil tube on my 55 235.

The only difference was the groove inside the bore of the rocker shaft it was moved to the center in line with the oil hole on the top of the rocker. The geometry did not change.

I can rebuild the rocker assy's here and keep shafts for my own use and recondition the rocker arms also.

Kiwi, you are absolutely correct about the rocker arm oiling system. The change is described in detail here:
http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1959_60/...

According to the parts book, the 59-up rocker arms are also different from 58-earlier, but I don't know what the specific difference is.

The shafts are the same, the difference is the oil grove is off set from 1959-1962 because there was higher oil pressure up to the arms and this was a restriction. If the off set grove arms are used in a 1955 engine the oiling will be very restricted becuse the oil grove will not be in line with the oil hole in the shaft.

Man, you guys are a wealth of information. I appreciate all the help. I did purchase reconditioned rockers that were specifically for the 58 to 62 motor. Thanks again.
