I'm looking to replace the bench in my 65 with stock buckets. Does anyone know if the 66s will bolt right in with the proper brackets and if so will 65 covers and trim fit the 66s?

Mike

65/66 floors are the same,so the seats should bolt in.You'll still need to weld in the bases for the buckets.
66 seats have a metal back cover on them. So,the covers are different, but the 65 pattern can be reproduced to fit.

No they won't interchange. The bench bolts to the floor with brackets on both ends. Buckets also bolts with brackets on both ends so you need brackets and holes on both sides of the trans tunnel also.'65 an '66 buckets are totally different physically. No way you can use trim or covers from one on the other.

I own 4 of these cars, buckets seats and bench seats.
The floors are the same from 1965 thru 1970.
Bucket seats use stamped steel mounts that will fit All the floors and are needed for the buckets to be mounted.
The bucket seats all use the same mounts.
Again, the 65 seat covers can be modified to use on the 66 seats.
The 65 chrome wrap around will not fit the 66 seat without modifications.

I thought 66 is a strato-bucket? Taller, same as the 67 except no seat back lock. 65 bucket is the same as 62-64 except the way the seat back folds forward.

My brother has a 1966 Impala Conv, it isn't an SS and it came with the stock bench seat, which he is planning on using, and also a pair of 1965 SS buckets, blue vinyl and really not bad looking, and he figures he will need to get rid of them at some point. Let me know if you want me to get you together with him. He is in southern Wisconsin though.
