I recently took my 2016 Colorado diesel into the dealer for my last free oil change. Service manager tells me that there is a recall for a software update, something to do with the diesel particulate sensor. Driving the truck home I notice the letters "CAL" in the lower left of the DIC, which means that the compass needs calibration. The user manual says that to re-calibrate the compass, just drive in an open area and the GPS will re-calibrate the compass. I switch to the GPS screen and notice that the "GPS" lettering in the upper right has a red "X" through it. The GPS seems to work correctly though, but compass will not calibrate. Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,
Charles

In case anyone else experiences this problem, my solution was to replace the GPS module and reprogram, about a 4 hour job at my dealership.

Yes, at least that is what the service manager told me. Also, I forgot to mention in my original post that the Onstar light had changed from green to red when the other problems occurred. Whatever they did fixed that problem also. An internet search tells me that this is not an uncommon problem.
