Is there much difference in the 1970 &1972 Front clip. I have a chance to pick one up but want to be sure before I dive 2 hours to look at it. The photos look close but what am i missing?

Fenders and hood are basically the same. Grills look different since the turn signals are mounted in them but will interchange. I believe the 70 has the Bowtie emblem on the hood but of course this will not affect fit.

71, 72 have the turn signals in the bumpers.

Jim, I went on Paul's Parts and looked at grilles and the only difference I see is one has black paint as high lights.

You are right on the grills and they will interchange with no problems. You said GMC and I happened to answer for Chevy Grills, I apologize!

The front ends are basically the same with only cosmetic changes which don't effect fitment. Most clips will work even the earlier model ones will bolt up to the later models with only a radiator support change.
The only problem with a GMC grille is the double head lights.
As stated the turn signals will have to be moved to which ever one you choose.
