This is the air cleaner on my truck presently.
Its a bit dirty what can I use the polish it up? Make it look new?

Secondly what is the proper procedure to clean the filter itself?

Use some mothers aluminum wheel cleaner. Use a soft brush or cloth. You can buy a sponge to put on a drill too.

What type of filter is it? Something like a K&N? Those require a special cleaner and fresh oil. Or is it stock paper? Stock paper will only last so long. Using compressed air, blow inside out. Don't tap it too hard. Just enough to dislodge large debri.
