We replaced a distributor since the pick up coil was bad. Started right up after the installation. The owner ran it for a while at higher than idle RPMs to burn old fuel. At least 1 hour or more. Now that I have time, we are trying to time it. It does not want to idle. With a new timing light, I moved timing to 0. It won't start or idle with the ECM unplugged or plugged. Timing is advance by the distributor to turn it on. While looking over the engine bay, I find a sticker with ASD Super Chip. Does any one have info on this chip? Vette owners called it garbage back then.

We plugged up a lot of vac leaks. New vac hoses were installed. Most of the emission vac hoses were replaced. If time keeps jumping around, I suspect the timing chain is toast.
