I bet that is a Addco 1inch sway bar. They bolt right up to 61 and 62 chevy’s at the factory sway bar location. I have one on my 62 and I have a new one not on a car.

Pvs409, may I ask for a few photos to reference your install? I'm having trouble with the passenger side bushing mounts. My assumption is the tubular a-arms may not let me properly seat the bushings.

I've been told this kit wasn't made for power steering. I would also like to ask, are you running power steering on your setup as well? Thanks in advance.

I will get some pictures, give me a few days.
Yes my 62 Impala hardtop has factory power steering with the Addco large front sway bar.

There is no such vehicle as a 4 door Sport Coupe.
That is a 4 Door Hardtop.

Spas:

The correct term used by Chevrolet for your 1961 Impala 4-door is “Sport Sedan”. Not counting the Station Wagons there were 5 body styles available in the 1961 Impala series:

2-door Sedan
4-door Sedan
2-door Sport Coupe
4-door Sport Sedan
2-door Convertible

Info from the 1961 Chevy brochure and the GM/Chevrolet Heritage 1961 pdf website.

The 1961 Impala 2-door sedan is rare...I’ve never seen one but there are still a few around.

No sir, I took off the aftermarket sway bar. The 1" bar rubbed on the power assist.

Thanks for your feedback, the 55 Cadillac was sold a month ago.

My 1" Addco sway bar that replaced the original smaller diameter sway bar, fits fine with my stock original 62 Chevy power steering. No interference.
I promised pictures, I will post some.

For stock setup, the 1 inch should work, I had this on my 62 & 63. But it looks fine as is.

Yes that is the sway bar I have on my 62 Impala Hardtop with factory Power steering.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aco-k1-706-0u/o ...

I think 61's have a different PS cylinder shaft mount from 62's. A 62 PS cylinder mount will fit a 61.
