Consider making a coil of brake line between the master cylinder and body. On vehicles with a separate body, the coiling of the brake line acts as a flex joint so that the steel line does not crack from flexing.

On unitized body cars, the coiling becomes unnecessary.

People fear change because it threatens what they know, or what they claim to know.

Thanks for your feedback sir!

Installed telescopic rear driveshaft into the 1961. Bled the brakes. The car now shifts into drive and stops. Need to adjust the rear drums and replace the power steering control valve next.

Thanks for the feedback sir!

I replaced the old power steering control valve. Added new clutch fan. I found a rear bubbletop glass but sadly it’s clear.

Thanks chuck! Happy thanksgiving as well!!

I’ve been taking a break from the 61’ as I sprang a leak from one of the passenger side head bolts. Oil/antifreeze mix was running from in-between the block and head gasket so I panicked.

Turns out, the threads on one head bolt were stripped, so I swapped it out with a donor engine bolt. I drained the engine, applied white head bolt sealant, and let it dry for 3 days.

The driver side head shows no leaks yet so I didn’t mess with it.

Added new th400 plastic dust cover. My next goal is to get the front end alignment to drive back and forth. I’m currently sanding the body and got quoted $900 to weld/fix the driver side door.

Traded a tripower intake for some metal work on my 1961 door. The guy said he needs to add metal where some parts are missing.

Bought an original chromed set of side mouldings and rear trunk mouldings. Working on finding the clips. Also added new reproduction high torque starter for 4 speed. The mini peanut starter was chewing up the flex plate.

Start your own thread. Don't contaminate Jesse's build with stuff that's of no need to his.

Took off my passenger fender to have the front antenna hole welded. Also had the lower portion of the fender patch welded. Working on getting driver side fender welded for final metal work on the car.
