On your intake, did you remove and clean under the heat shield?

I’d also suggest you block off the heat crossover under the carb, to prevent boiling of fuel, plus when you get there, you should use a phenolic spacer to also prevent heat transfer.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you sir for your feedback. I notified my father to help keep an eye out for the spacer before starting it.

Found these revel mouldings from a swap meet guy. I definitely needed the side windshield trim.

Got the 1960 348 engine back. Rebuilt to stock specs. .30 over on the pistons. Will update soon.

I always painted the engine in pieces, then assembled.

Also, I installed all of the core plugs after painting so that it had a nice finished look. No masking required.

Thanks for your feedback. I don’t have a dyno to run it on. I need to acquire a new original wiring harness and gauges before starting it. I’m also running the 4 barrel intake for now until I add the tripower later on.

More progress on the 1961 impala 4 door. Added 5/16 gas tank sending unit and new filler neck hose. Also connected some linkages and radiator hoses.

If you are going to run tripower shouldn't you put in the 3/8" sending unit now? Would save you some trouble later.

The 5/16th sending unit is for the 283 1961 4 door. I already installed a new gas tank, 3/8 fuel line, and 3/8 sending unit installed for the 348 1961 2 door.

Thanks for your feedback. I’m definitely addicted to working on both cars again.

The American Autowire is the best. They will also modify to suit changes like a mini hitorque starter or an alternator.

Thanks for your feedback. I added the original manifolds back on and intake manifold. I need to install the fuel pump push rod next.

Added harmonic balancer, fan pulley, and fuel pump. Also added gaskets to fuel pump and valve covers. I have to redo the oil pan gaskets as I over tightened one side.
