Nice project, except the transmission, needs to use 3 pedals.
Is that chrome paint on the rear axle?
Looks like pretty solid car you started with and a 348 tri power, you have good taste.
A Caddie and 3 Chevies, how many more projects do you have?

Transmission was a "smoke em' if you got em" thing. I wanted to go with a 350 turbo but only had the th400 available.
Rear end came off a 63 convertible, it is chromed. I also had chrome suspension but I sold before this project. I honestly wanted the rear end original with posi. But that's after I get this running.
Thanks for your feedback, the 64 ss does have 4 speed on the floor

Is the 4 door a parts car? I like the Caddy in the picture, and would like to see some pictures of it also. Does it have a 3 piece rear window? You have great taste in cars! The work on the coupe is going to make it a great car when you are done with it.

Yes sir, the 4 door is mainly for collision damage down the road. Just trying to protect this investment. I heard same age metal bonds better than replacement. I'm not a welder but it sounded interesting. Thanks for you feedback.
As far as the Cadillac goes, I'll need to clear it with a moderator first before posting. To answer you question, it's a single sheet of glass. No dividers.

Lord have mercy, looking good! Keep posting the pictures. Nice work and this is starting to make me want to get back on my '64. Took several years off to build a '53 pickup rat rod but my '64 is still sitting in my garage after I put floor pans in it.

One warning on the distributor, it looks like MSD? Some of them do not run good at all when brand new, quality issues.
Have you run the motor at all?
The tripowers can be finicky, unless built by a proven tripower expert. Issues with vacuum leaks until you get them set up right, then they can run great.
If you have issues with the motor running right when you first start it, you could be having tripower issues or distributor issues. I'm just suggesting you be prepared.
What was the HP issue the prior 348 owner had- too much or not enough?
Don

If you block off the 2 end carbs for testing, you can get the motor running good, then move on to the 2 other carbs. The tri powers can be made to work very good if you get them set up correctly and a lot of people run progressive linkage. Basically the 2 end carbs should work like a 4 barrel, only open and used when you floor it.
I'd suggest you start a separate post looking for help with the tri power setup, maybe on the 58-60 forum, since they were used in those years and 61 only. You can also search on 348-409, lots of info on tri powers there.

Thanks don. I found I needed a coil with this electronic distributor. Some have been telling me I may need to run a 60' degree on the spark plugs as well.
