Can anyone tell me how to find the nut, bolt etc. in the C1 Assembly Manual by the reference number alongside it. As an example, on page A117 Sect 8 Sheet 2, on the manifold exhaust, it shows a nut with the number 3671946. Does this number tell me the size nut, 7/16", 1/2", etc?
Thanks for any help.

If you are doing a stock resto for show points and/or cost is not an issue, you can get that nut from the usual Corvette specialty parts vendors for a price.

On the other hand, if you just want a nut that fits and will do the job, the thread is 3/8"-16 and the illustrations show it to be the self-locking type. I would expect that you should be able to find it at any well-stocked-hardware or home improvement store.

If you need additional info, feel free to ask.

3671946 is the part number in existence at the time of production.

GM parts issued a catalog of standard parts and it listed size's etc along with part numbers of fasteners and the like. Often though part numbers used in production were superseded by a new part number. They also printed parts number supersessions catalogs. (old number = new number)
