Can somebody please tell me how big a tire can I run on the back of a ( 1973) second gen Camaro. I really need to know what size rim will fit on back. Looks like I have 7" rims on back now with 15" tires. Can I go with a 9" rim or will it make the tire stick out to far? I don't want the rubber on the tire sticking out past the fender well at the top and I don't want it to hit the shock on the back side. I just want to know what size tire others have on their second gen Camaro. Could you please let me know your rim size and tire size. If you know the offset of the rim that would be great. I don't want to tub it. Thank for any help. Steve

Measure from the shock to the inside of the fender with the car weight sitting on a jackstand. Don't let the axle hang. That will tell you how wide a tire you can run. Then measure from the wheel mounting surface on the drum to both the fender and the shock. That will tell you how much wheel offset you need. The tire width will determine the wheel width to use, but normally it will be 2" or 3" less than the tire. Or, you can consult the tire maker's specs for the tire size you selected.

I'm running 275/60/15 on the back of my 73 RS. No rubbing. The inside of the wheel well lip has been clearanced. I've had both street tires and drag radials on the same wheels with no issues.
