As you can tell by all my post the truck I bought 2001 Silverado z71 was driven but not taken care of so all the wearable items are wore. Does this truck have a 3 or 4 grove pitman arm? Anyone use Detroit axle parts? What is your opinion of this company and would you recommend using there front suspension kit.

you have to pull you old one off first to see which one it is (its a bas**d) i used a 2 jaw puller and a center saver on the shaft. I used detroit stuff, its decent, the 3 did not work on my truck, 1999 siverado 4x4.

Called gm dealer parts dept. He used the last 8 digits of vin and told me it was a 4 groove. The Detroit axle parts come non greaseable no zerks.would like more input before I order their kit. Anyone used their kit? I don't want to have to do this twice looks and sounds like a lot of work.

Non-greaseable would be a definite no-go for me. Stick to quality brand suspension parts or you will be re-doing it sooner than later.

For steering and suspension parts I won't use anything but Moog. The cheaper stuff you're lucky if you get 6 months.

When I looked at the pictures, it looked like maybe there were holes partially hidden, without the zerks installed. My guess is that the parts were handed to a photgrapher and the photographer being an expert in taking pictures, and not autoparts didn't install them.

I find it curious that they claim to actually manufacturer axle shafts and rack and pinions.

That's an awful short time period. Are you sure you didn't pinch it during installation?

Ok I just finished replacing entire front suspension including gear box. While I was under there I did the torsion key lift and put bilstein 5500 mono tube on and now truck drives like new.I was wondering if I use a 1 inch lift on rear will it mess with pinion angle? Truck is now 1 inck higher in front than rear.
