Working on a '55 210. Need advice on best way to remove and install the trunk torsion rods. I got one off by sliding a socket and long extension over the end but, that was kinda scary as there is some pretty serious tension. Open to better ideas.

I just used a 3/8 deep socket and a 10" extension and removed both rods. Just make sure the socket goes on the rod, all the way to the bend. Support the trunk, if it's still bolted to the hinges.
