I'm in the process of doing a swap on one of my s10's. Need some ideas. Dropping a 355 with a th350 in.

What year truck? Iron block or LS? LS engines are plentiful. With a little work, they can be converted to a carburetor. You can do all the FI and trans but carb is different. I would do carb just to add a dual snorkel intake.

An LS 4.8 and 5.3 will make nice HP with only little modifications.

355 would be a non LS engine. I would not go with a TH 350.A 700 R4 would be an excellent choice since it's a 4sp. I'm going to guess it's a 1st gen S10, which would make it easier to convert to a carb. If it's a 2nd gen, the problems will only go up from there using a carb and TH 350 . I would go to and read ALL of the stickies. The pics are most likely all gone thanks to the crooks at photobucket, but the info is still good.

Wow there's a lot of activity on that V8S10 site. Good to see interest because maybe it means places will continue to make replacement parts.

I bought mine because I wanted a RWD manual transmission, full frame and needed the utility of a small pick-up. I guess getting off topic but I thought about getting a replacement this past year and my conclusion was there are zero offerings for 6cyl manual in a "small" truck. I included mid-size because nobody makes a small truck anymore.
