Anybody knows where to buy a hood for a Nomad 56?
I have asked this on Nomads forum, no reply yet. Asking here as I was told that BelAirs and Nomads share the same front.
I am helping a friend who is restoring a 56 Nomad.
Generally, any recommendation for sources of parts for Nomads would be greatly appreciated.

If you disregard the emblem and possibly the bird, I would expect any 56 passenger car hood to fit a 56 Nomad. I can't imagine why there should be any difference in the sheet metal.

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.

That's correct, any 56 passenger car hood will also fit a Nomad. The bird is the same, the emblems may vary on diffrent models, as mentioned.

If you put your location in your profile, someone close to you may notice, and have one to let you know about.

The problem is we do not find any hood, Nomad or passenger car. There are several hoods for 56 chevy trucks but those sure won't match. It seems that only the hood 56 models are hard to find.

Have you tried Cliff's in Portland, OR?
They have (or used to have) parts cars.

Hi cbarsan, if you are not looking for original metal there is a reproduction available now. This is the first time I have seen one being reproduced. Do a search for "new 56 chevy hood", this should take to the web site. Good luck.
