If I connect the 3rd brake light to my brake light wire in the trunk it will blink with one of the turn signals. Does anyone know what the adapter for this is called and where I can get one or is there another way around this without running wires to the switch? Any one else been down this road?
Thanks, Russ

I think you will have to bite the bullet and run a wire up to the brake switch. I'm not sure if a commercial adapter even exists. It would certainly be possible to design one, but the circuit would take at least a second or so before it "knows" whether it is sensing a turn signal or a brake pedal application. In an emergency stop situation, that much delay could be enough to cause a collision.

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.

Thanks Ray, Connecting directly to the switch is probably the answer.

Since the wire from the switch goes through the turn signal switch and flasher to interrupt the brake light to cause it to flash, you have to hook the wire directly to the switch.
