I got my a/c brackets and condenser on this weekend . Could not get the pulleys to line up very good ,I am running headers and a 327 (64).Fought the dam thing most of Saturday and slipped a belt on and she rides good but still not lined up like they should. So today I tackled it again ,finally gave in and removed the top bracket from front intake bolt to top of comp. BINGO lines up a hell of a lot better. Now why in the HELL was that the problem ? I did fab a bracket for the rear of comp. Things that make you go HHMMMMMMMM I guess Ill just run it without the top bracket. any insight on this from the gurus

Personal experience has shown me that GM almost never spends one cent on a vehicle that it doesn't absolutely have to. In this case, I would guess that absence of the top bracket will eventually cause loosening and/or failure of the remaining bracket(s).
