I'm sure this question has been asked many times and I have done my homework searching the archives of this particular page but have found very little information.
I picked up a Silverado to do an LS engine/trans swap in my GMC. The donor is an actual driving vehicle. I'm contemplating just taking the entire rolling chassis and putting under the GMC. Who has done this and what challenges lie ahead for this type of swap? Pictures?? The donor is an 02 2wd.

From what I've read of body swaps, they are not easy, and often look odd, when finished. I don't see any reason to not use the original rolling chassis of your truck. Swapping in the newer drivetrain has been done many times, and aftermarket parts to help you do that are available.

I have a complete front & rear suspension from a C4 Vette that I could graft onto the GMC OE frame but was hopefull the full rolling chassis would be faster swap & could utilize the 4 wheel disc, anti lock brakes, etc....
Well still undecided, anyone else have any info or pictures of a C10/late model Silverado swap?

I was going to help my brother with a similar swap a while back before he ended up selling the truck. I looked into it a little and did not find much info on this.

I agree with you as far as thinking it would be nice to have the newer style frame and suspension. The mounts for the engine can be swapped and all of that but at least if you could do a body swap with out too much effort it would be a nice time saver.

If you do it I would like to see pictures and details.

Hope these help.

Well it looks like I may get going on this late Nov or early Dec. Seams to be pretty straight forward with the typical fab work required for most similar swaps. Plasma, Mig, & some time. Looking forward to this one.

Gathering more parts before i get started. Going to try out the new Hooker turbo manifolds. Might be a tight fit but worth a try.

If that is an actual photo of the completed build then Wow that came out amazing. Do you have any more detailed photos of the build?
