Hey, i sure appreciate being able to post and read others posts about various vehicles, issues,etc.... I have a 99 K1500 with 209,000 miles, and the issue i have is it idles very rough but usually clears once i begin to throttle up. it shifts fine and has power through the gears. its burning gas like crazy, i can see a cloud behind me at night in the headlights of cars behind me, but not really visible in the daytime. in the morning it starts right up but anytime after that the engine has to turn over and over before it starts, like its flooded. I replaced the CTS (coolant temp sensor) just to see, but it didn't clear it up at all. I haven't had codes read and will soon, just wondering if there's a few ideas to check before the spending spree begins. It is my daily driver. Last year i replaced the intake manifold gasket because of a leak into the block. The rough idle has the feeling similar to if you unplugged one plug wire, or like a misfire with a Ford coil pack. Any thoughts?

The injector assembly on these engines is inside the manifold - a "spider" looking assembly.

With high mileage they tend to leak. A new one from GM is pretty expensive, but there are cheaper alternatives available through auto supply sources.

You would do well to get your codes read because this will help you confirm or deny if it's this problem.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Checking the codes with my Hum diagnostics reader, it shows a code P0300.I replaced the CTS, but that didnt help so i assume the injector may be an issue. Ive had the diagnostics reader show an issue on cylinders 5 and 7. I'm getting between 5 and 9 miles per gallon right now and a very rich fuel exhaust smell. Getting a code P0155.
