Some where along the line, someone PO, put disc. brakes on the front of my 65 nova. Trying to find out which ones I have, to replace the calipers. All I can find on the cal. is the letters GM N. No other numbers or letters match. So do I have stand. or metric and how to tell them apart? Randy

The "Chevelle" calipers have about 7" between the mounting bolts. Replacements should be from a 69-72 Chevelle.

The "Malibu" (metric) calipers have about 5.5" between the mounting bolts. Replacements should be from a 79-82 Malibu.

Since you can put Chevelle style brakes on a Nova with almost all factory bolt on parts, they are probably the most likely if you have stock suspension.

Look at the pads. They will usually have a number on them like "Dxxx". That can be back-referenced to find out what kind of caliper they belong to.

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.
