Stripping my '56 for paint. The weather strips on the body around the lift gate appear to be held in place by a lip of thin metal that has been bent over. The sides are similar but more of a square 'U'. These seem to be welded on so do I straighten them the best I can and then bend them down when I put new weather strip in after I paint it? My top one had clear silicon on it, so do these leak between it and the body? If so, what have you guys done?
Thanks
Ken
