what type of fluid goes a in manual steering box on a 1963 corvette coupe

Use GM#12377985 Chassis lube. some use synthetic
chassis lube. jim

I use CV joint grease. It's lighter than chassis grease and therefore flows around the gears better, but not so light, like 90w oil, that it will leak out.
