I'm getting close to getting this beast on the rode. I'll need to get a good set of tires and rims and would like to get the largest possible. I've read that 15x7 with 4.5 in backspacing will work for the rears. Tire rack shows 15x6 all around. I believe I would like to get the same size all around for now. Any thoughts? Thanks! My ride still has original brakes. Not sure when I'll upgrade but I'm sure I'll have disc up front in the near future. I would like to get the tires and rims that would fit on both applications. I like the old weld wheels look. Anyone know about rimsntires.com site?

I think you'll possibly have trouble with 6" wide wheels in the front, even with drum brakes. And if you go to the factory type discs (which most of the conversions are), that moves the wheel mounting surface out 7/8" per side which makes it even harder.

The other half of fitting wheels and tires on an early Nova is tire height. Anything taller than 26" will probably contact the front fender opening just behind the front bumper.

You might be able to use a short 15" tire on a 15x5 wheel. Most tires that will fit a 15x6 are too tall.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to have to learn how to measure it correctly.
