After four years I'm just about finished with the Nomad. After two 55 hardtop builds I figured this would be a breeze.....wrong ! This car took twice as long as I figured and was a fist fight the majority of the time. I did remove the body from the frame on this one so that added a lot of extra work on its own. I'm happy with the results and enjoy cruising around in it...

ZZ4, 700R4, Dougs Headers, Wildwood Brakes, CPP 500 Box, Vintage AC & Frontrunner System, AAW Classic Update Kit, Earles Lowered Spindles, Rear Leafs, Motor Mounts, A-Arms, QA-1's, Billet Specialties Wheels, Nitto Tires, Leather Interior, Ididit Column, New Vintage Gauge Cluster, Retro Sound Radio.

Craig!!!

That car is beautiful! Man...you couldn't have done it any better!

The stance is exceptional, and you're choice of colors, interior and wheels are spot on.

Very nice!

Craig. that thing is just gorgeous. Pat yourself on the back...you've built 3 tri-5's in the last 11 years now.

Sit back and cruise that Nomad this summer and just enjoy it.

Not to temp you, but you know they are worth the most within 1 year of their build...

Thumbs up.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your comments....

Paul, I told my wife the same thing, now's the time to sell. She looked at me like I had two heads !

I sold the black & white 55 about six months ago so I plan to hang on to this one for awhile.

Sorry to hear you moved the B&W '55 along, that was one of my favorites.

Is that an original front seat? The fit & finish of your upholstery is outstanding.

Thanks again, I appreciate it...

Scott, yes, stock factory electric seat, I was able to rebuild the original mechanism and it works like a champ.

I agree, the interior shop does incredible work.

Hello,

This is Craig's (cnbell) son in law. I'm sorry to inform anyone following this thread that Craig passed away from pancreatic cancer about a year and a half ago. He was diagnosed within a couple weeks of finishing this Nomad. If you would like to see the car in person or are interested in buying it (the family has decided to sell it), we'll be showing the car at the Laverne car show 11/24. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me via direct message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Craig was a big fan of this forum and the community in general.

-Jake

Jake, so sorry to hear about Craig. He will be sorely missed. His Nomad is beautiful. I hope it goes to someone worthy of owning it. I was absent from the site for a bit, so I never noticed he hadn’t been posting.

Jake,
Paul just filled me in on Craig’s passing. I haven’t been on the site very much over the past few years being busy with Real Estate, dealing with a divorce, building a new drivetrain on my ‘56 and remodeling one of my houses. I had wondered what happened to Craig however I got used to guys just moving on.
My condolences to the family. I will try to make it to the LaVern show.

Jake, so sorry to hear of Craig's passing. He was a fantastic engineer/craftsman, his attention to detail was the best. I had the pleasure to meet Craig at the CFAC a few years back right after he finished the black and white 55. He was a very interesting guy and a great contributor to this site. My condolences to the family.
He will be missed by all of us here at Chevy talk.
RIP buddy.
Rodger
