My great aunt and uncle had my grandad's 46 for a while and painted the dash with black paint and the trim with silver. I have been able to remove the paint with no damage, but have a question. According to the original specs, the center panel is "chrome plated, polished and satin finished fluted" I know the upper arc is to be painted Alcona Gray, the letters Blue, but the center around the Chevy shield---is that satin finished?? or polished chrome?? And how to refurbish satin finish if that's what it is. Thanks

The top part of that badge was beige-maybe some Chevy engineer called it grey. The badge i am referring to is the sliver above the long chrome rectangular"bar" that contains the word Chevrolet. I found the center part can be masked off and used a metallic silver spray Krylon that matched pretty well for satin.
