I've been looking for some time for the choke cables for the YH's. No luck. Anyone know of a source? Repops ok.

Thx

Insert pic of crickets, chrip, chrip...

Found one on flea-bay but at $550 I'll make my own.

Is it the same guy who is selling this $225 speedo gear?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-1953-195 4-1955-po...

Btw, that gear is identical (same part no.) to the one used on 50-54 passenger cars. The good news is that it has been listed for quite a long time and the a-hole hasn't been able to sell it.

Those who choose an automatic transmission want transportation. Those who choose a manual transmission want to drive.

Hi Ray,

No, but they must both belong to the same "A-hole" club!

The cable guy is out of Austin, Texas.

As for the speedo gear, looks just like the one in my 3spd '54 1/2T truck tranny. Tooth count is 20 on mine.

So if the guy wants $225 for just the speedo gear, guess my tranny is worth about $2000.00

(Oh, and he wants $9.00 for shipping.)

My impression is that some have no concept on how rare that part is and why it is so expensive. Also as you know it is a complicated part as it actuates chokes on 3 carbs at once. You could probably make one for several thousand dollars as one reply suggested.

But to answer your question I do have a fully restored choke cable with or without the knob. Its not on ebay.
