guys, i'm removing a dead 307 and need to know if a 250 will drop in using v8 frame mounts, i'm told they are the same. 1970 chevelle is the vehicle. thanks!

I would doubt it. Height difference and engine set back I would think. That 250 is longer than the V8. Would need to be positioned differently.

I know with the later model Chevelles that received V6 motors ('78-'84), that the mounts on the frame had to be moved forward I believe to accept a V8. Not sure with earlier models.

As an Inline 6 guy. I greatly approve of this decision. As a guy with a crappy 307 in a 30 ford that always breaks and 65 chevelle w an inline that always works I come with experinece to wish you well. The mounts I do not recall if they are the same BUT I know you just have to move them to the other location. What trans are you using?
